O.J. Simpson’s Life is Over

Las Vegas, NV—Defendants O.J. Simpson and C.J. Stewart were convicted on every count. I was not surprised that this dubious case against the football great went this far.

Simpson was convicted not for what happened in Las Vegas but a yet to be solved double murder in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles long ago.

I don’t like the arrest, trial or the verdicts. This was a subjective judgment made in an imperfect world by a jury that did not want to even stop this railroad job for meals.

Here is an AP report from inside the courtroom.

Well deserved convictions!

About 13 years late but I'll take them anyway. Throw away that key.

It's about time this scumbag does some prison time. I have no pity for this piece of garbage who killed two people in cold blood and got off due to racial bias, an expensive legal team, and police misconduct. As they say, what goes around, comes around. Looks like it's finally coming around. I'll be looking forward to sentencing day.

Paul I agree with Mark. When time permits, ill be posting a blog post supporting this verdict.

I know I’m in the minority on this one. I view the events inside room #1203 at the Palace Station as something other than a crime. Everyone in the room deserved some kind of punishment. A robbery/kidnapping conviction against Simpson was beyond overkill.

As carefully as I could examine I found no victims here, just a bunch of thugs being thugs.

Giving the majority of these goofs immunity and reduced sentences just so they could get Simpson was wrong.

This was about the Brentwood murders and a lot of anti-Simpson sentiment and hatred. That is an improper consideration for prosecution or conviction.

I understand what you're saying Paul, but isn't your opinion being skewed - albeit indirectly - by giving OJ the benefit of the doubt?

You know as well as any that the courts routinely give offenders the minimum; and that's a huge problem. It sends the message that there are no consequences. Hell, after OJ got off for murdering Ron Goldman and OJ's estranged wife, the black community pointed and crowed, claiming that it was an example of "real" justice. Even Tupac rapped about it in one of his songs ("free all day like OJ")

It is good that they decided to enforce the laws explicitly and as they're written. This guy deserves nothing less.

Just my 2 cents.

There is an older Michael Douglas movie from the 80's called "The Star Chamber" that I watched the other night. It is about a bunch of judges who are overwhelmed by the legal system they serve when a number of violent offenders had to be released due to legal technicalities, even though everyone knew they committed the crimes, there was physical evidence linking them to the crimes, and confessions were made. Perhaps the time has come that people are finally fed up with all of the legal mumbo jumbo that is always skewed in favor of the bad guys, and now they are looking for justice, and will take it whenever and however they can.

Wonderful, OJ went from the position of a 'tight end' on an NFL team, to being a 'wide receiver' in a prison shower. Send him some KY jelly.

Go getem boys. But I'd rather have my throat cut than be raped by some homo.

Paul you are 100% right, it's 90 about the past and 10% about what happened between thugs that day. The only real sticking point for Vegas authorities is bringing a weapon into a Vegas Casino/Hotel. That one gets the book thrown at it and so it should. That was the 10%.
Do you think if from day one, all of this had just been ignored by the Police, anyone would have noticed what happened? (no one got hurt, some guys yelled a bit and took some old footballs and clothing).
