Is There Redemption For Mickey Rourke?

Los Angeles, CA--In the 1980’s he starred in, Angel Heart and Nine 1/2 Weeks. Then came one of my all time favorite cop films, Year of The Dragon where Rourke played a New York police lieutenant. Rourke was a gifted actor and star with unlimited potential.

Soon Rourke’s life became a total mess. Was it drugs, mental illness or both that sent Rourke’s life spinning out of control? Rourke underwent needles plastic surgery that backfired and disfigured himself even further with an unremarkable boxing career.

Rourke became a tragic, washed up failure with what appeared to be little hope. He was not to be counted out just yet. As luck would have it along came a low budget film and Rourke is back on the fast track to stardom. He’s been nominated for a Golden Globe and is a possible Oscar contender for his portrayal of Randy “The Ram” Robinson in The Wrestler.

At 52, Rourke still has plenty of useful life. I hope he can sustain and continue to bring real life to the characters screenwriters invent on paper.

Convicted Felons and The Workplace Are Incompatible

There is a political movement afloat to grant felons the special status that women, minority group members and homosexuals have from employment discrimination.

They want so-called, ex-offenders to be able to enter the workplace despite the despicable acts that gave them the Mark of Cain. We are talking about killers, rapists, robbers and thieves. Imagine having a small business and being forced to hire someone that frightens you and your employees?

If they succeed in obtaining this kind of protection, the job seeking felons you turn away will be able to file lawsuits against you.

The majority of felons are career criminals. Some argue that they have no choice but to return to crime because they are denied jobs. I will never claim to know the answer. The answer is not allowing society’s predators to invade your company and then prey on your company’s clients.

I’m requested by people to perform background investigations every day. I inform them that if they tell me in advance that these investigations are for pre-employment purposes I tell them about the tight constraints the FTC places on me and how they can use the information. As a result I get a lot of requests for these investigations for “other” purposes.

Felons do need to have shelter and food like everyone else and today’s information age makes that difficult. Who then has to hire these folks and for what jobs?

I have had to lobby the Arizona Legislature to keep them from letting felons work as private investigators. Allowing felons to be PI’s would be enabling and facilitating professional extortionists into a world where trust is paramount. From time to time I get a celebrity client and learn information that the tabloids would pay me more than the clients did for my services. My personal ethics cause me to work even harder to prevent that kind of a breach. Their secrets must be safe with me. What about people that have a history of ethical failure?

Before fingerprints were used as identification felons could change their name move to another town and get elected as the Sheriff, Mayor or Governor. We were very caviler in the old days. An armed robber would be arrested, have his gun taken, be convicted in court, go to prison and at the expiration of his sentence their guns were actually returned to the felons by prison staffers..

We should be replacing the illegal aliens we’ve not been deporting with felons out in the fields. Felons should be only allowed to work with other convicts or those who don’t have a problem with this group.

As I say this there are those rare exceptions where the crime was a one-time thing and rehabilitation is evident. On a case by case basis business owners may want to take a gamble on hiring someone with an ugly past. That should be the choice of the business owner.

Time periods are often conducive to behavior change. If an offender can stay clean for a decade after release from prison that’s a sign of success. Age is also a factor because often maturity helps reduce impulsive behavior.

I don’t care what happens I will protect my clients from criminals wherever and whenever I can.

Going Out In Very A Dramatic Kodak Moment!

Photos courtesy of AP/The Pantagraph

Normal, IL--A suspected bank robber led police on a wild vehicular chase and bailed out with gun in hand on Interstate 55 and I-74. An AP photographer got these news photos of a lifetime snapping away as police opened fire on Robert Sylvester, 57.

The deadly drama came to a climax as Sylvester was being chased by police after an armed robbery of a Bloomington currency exchange. Officers opened fire on Sylvester who had begun an armed assault once the chase ended. Sylvester is also suspected of at least four bank robberies. Sylvester later died from his wounds at a local hospital.

One more bedtime story with a happy ending!

Sickening Internet Sex Stings May Be A Thing Of The Past.

If there was ever an investigative reporting series I hated it was the one run by NBC's Dateline in conjunction with local police agencies. Reporter Chris Hansen fronted a series called To Catch A Predator. The problem was ratings starved Dateline and their willing cohorts were the real Predators.

They used a company to troll the internet trying to entice pedophiles with creative, but fictitious sexy teen bait. When they found a sucker they’d entrap him with a promise of a teen sexual encounter. What would follow was primetime embarrassment and humiliation for the hapless prey. The show and its content were surreal. Was Dateline simply creating crime for the sake of ratings?

I’m in no way protecting pedophiles or the damage they do to children. It’s the really lowbrow investigative methods I have a problem with. Slowly the Internet sex sting cases are being reviewed in appellate courts and convictions are being reversed. The reason is that there was never an intended victim. No teens waiting for seduction as the trolls had promised, just TV cameras and handcuffs.

These cases don’t belong in our courts. Pedophiles that stalk and molest real children need a spin through the criminal justice system and a prison cell.

As for parents there is no excuse for not monitoring and protecting their children. Far too many children who become molestation victims were set up for the crime by their own parents.

Costs For Presidential Inauguration Is Obscene And Wasteful

Washington, DC—Our politicians are afraid so they want a giant security force to protect them during the week Barack Obama is sworn in. Cops from all over the country are being flown in to assist various local police in the effort.

Officials are claiming a half-billion will show up to celebrate this time. My question is, why invite such a mess? Obama can be sworn in some other venue like an underground bunker. We have the ability to broadcast video over television and the Internet.

There is no magic about taking an oath of office as millions of soldiers, cops and politicians have done it. There’s no need to make this such a big deal especially when government is virtually bankrupt. Is any American President’s inauguration worthy of an outdoor spectacle costing well into the tens of millions of dollars?

I can’t imagine so many people are willing to stand for hours out in the cold to watch anyone doing anything especially when they are not going to be close enough to see anything anyway. They undoubtedly will have large TV screens everywhere which begs the question, why not watch TV at home instead?

As for this inauguration, if I can’t get close enough to Obama to throw my shoes at him, I ain’t goin'.

Gutsy Lady Foils Carjacker

Berkley, CA—Of all places to see someone refuse to be a victim of violent crime. There must be something really bad in the water people drink in the Bay Area. The pacifist attitude along with people who long for victimization makes this story unusual.

Harmony Gates is not your typical Bay Area Resident, When a carjacker got into her van - she said she grabbed his gun while it was still in his hand and said, "I'm gonna blow your balls off."

Next time I hope this lady has a loaded large caliber handgun and the training to use it.

Why America is Doomed

This country was founded on a simple but ingenious plan. Minimal taxation provided for the needs of government, national defense and our basic infrastructure. Along the way, 12 years of free education was provided to every man, woman and child.

Our government was never intended to be a medical, charity or welfare provider. There was a “temporary” income tax to fund World War I that never went away. Politicians and their bureaucrats simply used American’s hard earned money like a narcotic and their habit would only increase in its thrust and hunger.

America became a welfare state not only taking care of Americans but every trespasser that could violate our borders. Our income tax system for collecting money also became a welfare system with every bogus kind of tax credits for those who were under or unemployed. A Social Security system was created for the retirement of the elderly. Instead it became a welfare program for narcotic addicts, drunks and malingerers.

Guess what folks? The bill is due and they have squeezed the very life blood out of Americans and they still want more!

The Liberal Governors are now demanding a $ trillion-dollar bailout behind all the failed banks, investment houses, auto makers and a never ending list of groups with their hands out.

As California hands out IOUs instead of tax refuund checks I’m wondering if I can use those IOUs as a form of payment for all the other taxes I’m required to pay? Can I use those IOUs for my mortgage lender, grocery store or dentist? I did not think so. Government simply refuses to downsize no matter what.

We used to have part-time legislators at the state and federal level but now they are all full time money wasters. I don’t have a clue what’s coming aside from a much weaker America and the welfare state will collapse. That makes it clear, that skyrocketing crime rates along with major disturbances are on the way.

Our founding fathers had it right the first time and if we are going to survive as a country we must return to our American roots. I don’t think we will do that so I can’t help but believe the American experiment is over. Say goodbye to freedom, prosperity and safety.

Decades of Gun Bans Have Never Brought Reduced Murder Rates

Chicago, New York and Washington, DC have seen yet another spike in their murder rates for 2008. All of these cities have virtual bans on handgun possession which has been only effective in one area, outlawing self-defense.

Every large city in America has three things in common, fanatical gun control laws, over-abundant violent crime and government run by Liberal politicians.

On the contrary, the further you are from those big cities the safer you are. Nearly every rural area of America has reasonable gun rights, low violent crime rates and government run by Conservative politicians.

Okay all you gun rights hating Liberals tell me the benefits, any benefits of the way gun bans help New York, Chicago and Washington, DC.

Fitzgerald Unveils Coming Attractions For Blagogate

Chicago, IL—Suggesting multiple defendants and giving out five pages of information the U.S. Attorney’s motion is revealing. This was necessary to justify a request for an additional 90 days to bring an indictment against the embattled Governor.

Attached to this motion, but filed under seal are additional pages of information to further rationalize the request for more time.

For your enjoyment read the motion below!

My Kind Of Show And Tell School Project

It was God, guns and guts that made this country safe, free and prosperous. Unfortunately too many Americans have no, training, tools or even the will for survival. Freedom is insured only by a willingness and ability to fight for it.

I don’t know how many political and genocidal holocausts it takes to educate humans to respect the fear, flight or fight instincts given to us by our creator.

I don’t think this little girl will ever be standing in a line of people being sent off to a concentration camp or some killing field.

This Cub Reporter Is Beyond Cute

Broadcaster, Damon Weaver is only ten years-old. He has a simple request to interview President-elect Barack Obama. They had the gaul to turn down his request for press credentials!

Of course I’d like to interview Barack Obama too. I know Obama would not like me or my questions for him.

Bolshevik politics aside this cub reporter is not working on a hit piece like I would and I don’t think Obama has a choice in the matter now.

This video should make you smile.

For more on Damon read this!

Facing the New Year.

We are entering what may be the bleakest year in many decades. Jobs are evaporating along with income to keep the economy moving.

No experts have brought out some sure fire fix to reverse what’s happening. That is a really bad sign.

Our weak economy is sure to invite aggression from the enemies of freedom and liberty including those within our own government. I don’t expect real relief. We may see a period of political unrest and crime that our government is unable to control. These are the same kinds of problems that may enable someone like Germany’s Adolf Hitler to take total control of our lives.

Americans have had it soft and easy for a very long time. Most are just not prepared to deal with what may be ahead. The sight of millions of Americans dealing with food shortages, panic, and disruption in the flow of pensions and those routine government benefits will be horrific to say the least.

The normal evolution of all government in history takes them trough phases with serious population control. With history as a reliable teacher we are all in trouble. Be ready to protect yourselves, family and friends.

To my visitors I wish you all a safe, healthy and Happy New Year.
