Disarmed and oppressed: The impossible challenge facing the Iranian people today.

Watch Iran. Really watch it. Millions are in the streets begging for basic liberty. Facing them is the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps with rifles loaded and consciences unplugged. They have already killed thousands of protesters. They will do it again tomorrow if ordered. That is what regimes do when cornered. Gun control did not begin as a public safety seminar. It was a tool. The Nazis used it. Communist regimes used it.  Fascist governments everywhere understood one thing very clearly. Disarmed citizens are much easier to rule. The American Bill of Rights is not self executing. It is not magic parchment. It works because there is a final check behind it. The Second Amendment is that check. Remove it and the rest becomes decorative. Iran’s protesters can chant all night, but unless the Revolutionary Guard splinters or refuses orders, the math does not change. The side with the guns writes the ending. Here in the United States, we are told that more restrictions are common ...

The Road to Hell Is Paved With Dumb Laws

Gun control. The gift that keeps on giving — mostly to criminals. Ignorance must be bliss when you are a politician rubber-stamping every gun restriction that crosses your desk. Ban this. Ban that. Ban anything that sounds scary in a thirty-second sound bite. Take handgun shoulder stabilizing devices. Take laser sights. Tools designed for one simple purpose: accuracy. Stability. Control. But apparently accuracy is the problem. When lawmakers outlaw devices that help a lawful gun owner hit what they aim at, they are not reducing danger. They are increasing it. Missed shots do not disappear. They land somewhere. Into a wall. Into a car. Into someone’s grandmother who just happened to be standing in the wrong place. The irony is thick. These laws are inspired by street gang chaos. Yet the very people driving that chaos are the least disciplined shooters on the planet. They spray and pray. They target each other. And when they miss, innocent people pay. Meanwhile, an elderly cit...

Machine Gun Bans? Virtually Unenforceable

Let me be crystal clear right out of the gate. Any law restricting the possession, manufacture, or sale of machine guns violates the Second Amendment. I do not give a flying shit what politicians or judges think about it. The language is not vague. It is not mysterious. It does not require interpretive gymnastics. It is plain English. Now for some honesty. Shooting full auto is mostly a great way to turn expensive ammunition into noise. Accuracy disappears, ammo evaporates, and the novelty wears off fast. Semi automatic firearms combined with solid marksmanship beat spray and pray nonsense every time. The real attraction to full automatic weapons has never been practicality. It is desire. People want what they are told they cannot have. Forbidden fruit with a selector switch. There are likely millions of machine guns sitting quietly in safes right now, hurting exactly no one and bothering nobody. Yes, legally transferable machine guns exist. The problem is that banning newly manufac...

The Second Amendment, Switchblades, and the Rise of Legislative Weenies

If you want to know where many unconstitutional weapons laws actually come from, do not bother digging through crime data or history books. Just watch a musical. Enter West Side Story. A beautifully crafted, emotionally manipulative stage and film production from Bernstein and Sondheim. Tragic. Romantic. Memorable. Also fictional. That part mattered to everyone except lawmakers. Legislators across the country watched a stylized gang melodrama, dried their tears and promptly went to work banning objects. Switchblade knives, in particular. Not because of statistics. Not because of real world trends. Because a movie made them feel something. Italian stilettos were suddenly public enemy number one. Yes, they opened fast. So what. If speed were the issue, a fixed blade hunting knife would have ended the battle much sooner. But logic does not test well in legislatures. And legislators, as it turns out, do not take intelligence exams. They pose for cameras, shake hands and smile w...

Blaming gun liberty for the blood-soaked failures of Democrat crime policies never ends.

In every big city run by Democrats, chaos is the daily special. Gun crime is out of control, but so is every other crime. Carjackings, robberies, assaults, murders,   all flourishing like weeds in the garden of leftist stupidity. The reason is no mystery. Reduced enforcement, no cash bail, and endless leniency have turned America’s cities into dangerous wastelands. Look no further than Charlotte, North Carolina, where a young Ukrainian woman was savagely murdered on the light rail. No gun was involved. The true killers were prosecutors and judges who handed Decarlos Brown Jr. a free pass for 14 prior violent crimes. They might as well have sharpened the knife for him. And then we get the classic nonsense line from the political left: “Government can’t just arrest its way out of crime.” Absolute garbage. Of course it can. Put criminals in cages and the streets get safer. That’s not complicated. Punishment works. It deters crime. It makes people think twice. Leniency is nothing mor...

The Democrat Party and Gun Control: Welcome to the Awakening, Comrades

Since the 2024 election, the Democrat Party has transformed into a rudderless ghost ship, drifting in circles with no captain, no map, and definitely no clue. Picture the political version of the Lost Dutchman, except the crew is made up of virtue-signaling ideologues who just discovered that criminals don’t care about gun control. For years, they’ve preached that guns are the root of all evil. They pushed every law imaginable to make it harder for regular Americans to own firearms, all while living in gated communities and hiring private security. Guns were for the “uneducated,” they said, for the “paranoid,” for “Trump voters.” Now? They’re racing to gun stores like panicked shoppers at a fire sale. In deep blue states, these same liberals are suddenly discovering what a bureaucratic nightmare it actually is to buy a gun. They can’t believe they can’t just walk in, flash their ID, and walk out with a shiny new Sig Sauer. Welcome to the tangled mess of gun laws you cheered for. Wai...

The Supreme Court Cannot Rewrite the Bill of Rights to Please Knee Jerk Idealists.

Let’s be absolutely clear: the Supreme Court does not have the authority to update, reinvent, or distort the Constitution to fit modern political fads. The Bill of Rights is not a set of vague suggestions or outdated guidelines—it is a line in the sand that government may not cross. It exists to restrain the state, not to accommodate it. And no matter how much the media, politicians, or judges wring their hands, the meaning of our rights does not change with the times. Take the Second Amendment. Critics scream that we no longer “need” guns because we have police departments and standing armies. They insist that modern firearms are too deadly, too advanced, too dangerous. But here’s the uncomfortable truth: there has not been a significant leap in small arms lethality in over a century. The Gatling gun appeared in 1862. The Maxim gun—fully automatic—was invented in 1884. By the time your great-grandfather was born, weapons capable of mass fire already existed. The Founding Fathers wer...

Gun Control’s Relentless March Hits a Major Roadblock

Pete shields handgun control inc The battle over gun control has reached a defining moment, and the tide is turning. Let me start by invoking the uncompromising words of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Despite the blatant clarity of this statement, countless politicians have tried to twist its meaning to suit their own agendas. They’ve claimed that the term “militia” refers solely to government-sanctioned groups, conveniently ignoring the fact that official militias have always had access to arms. The Founding Fathers intended this right to apply to ordinary citizens – you and your neighbors – as the ultimate safeguard against tyranny. No matter how fervently gun control advocates muddy the waters, the Second Amendment remains an individual right, vital to the preservation of liberty. The Truth About Gun Control A...

The Second Amendment: Gun Control for Dummies.

The Second Amendment is not merely a line of text in the Constitution; it is the battle cry of a free people—a shield against the dark inevitability of government overreach. It is the ultimate safeguard of liberty, and without it, freedom will crumble. Today, as political elites and authoritarian forces conspire to strip Americans of this fundamental right, we stand on the precipice of a defining moment in history. In 1791, the Founding Fathers—fresh from the blood-soaked battlefields of revolution—crafted the Bill of Rights as an unyielding defense of human liberty. The order of these rights was deliberate. The Second Amendment, following the First’s guarantee of speech and assembly, stands as a declaration of power: the people, not the government, hold the ultimate authority in this republic. A Warning to Tyrants The Second Amendment was not written to protect hunters or sportsmen. It was forged in the fires of rebellion, designed to ensure that no government—foreign or d...

What’s Ahead for Gun Laws in America? The Simple Truth.

The direction of gun laws in America is clear, thanks to a conservative U.S. Supreme Court, a Republican-controlled Senate, and the Trump presidency. Here’s what we can expect in the near future: The End of Assault Weapon and Magazine Capacity Bans By summer, expect bans on so-called “assault weapons” and magazine capacity limits to be struck down permanently. These regulations are on the chopping block due to both executive action and court rulings. President Trump is expected to dismantle many firearm regulations imposed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). The reasoning is simple: only Congress has the authority to legislate on firearms—unelected bureaucrats cannot. Nationwide Concealed Carry Currently, more than half the states allow law-abiding citizens without felony convictions or mental health issues to carry firearms without a permit. In other states, permits are required but must be issued to qualifying individuals. Within the next two y...
