Las Vegas, NV --I went to Las Vegas for the 2019   SHOT Show and the Antique Arms Show .     I was with the CEO of  Eagle Grips, Raj Singh.     Come with me on our adventure!

Meet My Pal, Raj Singh and he will Tell you the Eagle Gun Grips Story!

Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda, Move Over Raj Singh is here!

Chicago, IL --Im close to a Sikh family for well over 40 years.  The patriarch, Harbans Singh founded Eagle Grips.  That company makes incredible handgun grips out of excotic materials .  Eagle Grips have graced magazine covers and their designs are the best anywhere. Harbans retired a while back and now the CEO is my pal Raj Singh .  Raj likes motorcycles and has a small collection along with his showpiece is a Harley Davidson.  While I was there I shot some GoPro Video of Raj including aerial via a Phantom 2 quadcopter .   Yes, I'm have too much fun with the quadcopter…

You better think of a good teaser hook to make people watch your video!

Los Angeles, CA —As a blogger and multimedia journalist I occasionally put up videos here on Crimefile News. Currently time and lack of funding precludes me from putting up more video.   Getting people to watch your video no matter how good it is challenging.   You need to tease people with hot button words we’ve all seen.   “You better watch this video before the censors take it down!”   “Watch Ms. X destroy so and so in this video!”   “Watch Mr. X meltdown under tense questioning!”    “This video will make you break out the tissues!”    Frankly these are getting very old.   They’ve been used and abused and I refuse to fall for them anymore. The truth is that Internet viewers are incredibly impatient and loading videos for some can be a slow process.   When you add in that many videos turn out to be a disappointment that don't deliver on the promised hype you better be creative rather than deceptive. Putting i...

A Thirteen Minute Peek at the 2014 Las Vegas SHOT Show

Las Vegas, NV —Firearms, and accessory manufacturers, along with law enforcement and hunting related exhibitors filled the Sands Convention Center last week. Some 67,000 people attended and Sin City got a needed financial boost.   Local businesses benefit along with the tax coffers. What’s so amazing is that cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC will never get that financial benefit of this or the NRA Annual Meeting, Convention and Exhibit.   If we ever came to these cites we’d all wind up wearing handcuffs and watch our property confiscated.   With all the guns and gun toting attendees there are never accidents or any kind of violence in the cities we visit.   The crime rate goes down because the local thugs all know they are in for a serious challenge if they try and victimize these convention visitors.  More guns never brings more crime.  The SHOT Show is huge.   Covering the show as a full time multimedia journ...

The New Importance of Handgun Grips and the Aftermarket

Carol Stream, IL —In the Western suburb of The Windy City stands a business called Eagle Grips .  I have had a personal association with this firm since it began in 1971.  Back then I was a young cop just out of the Army.  I always liked guns so when I could get off on weekends I’d hit local gun shows.  Back then there were fewer gun bans and the gun shows were larger however the selection of available guns and accessories were limited by today’s standards.   Aftermarket gun grips were the made by a few companies and the pickings were slim.  That changed for me when I saw a Sikh Indian man at a table exhibiting grips at the then popular Waukegan Gun Show . At the time gun grip materials were usually either made from walnut wood or rubber.  The choices were limited.  There are problems with rubber grabbing your clothes and printing out through your clothing with telltale signs that you’re packing heat.   Walnut wood is to...

Grips From Eagle Grips Will Personalize Your Guns

Carol Stream, IL —In this western Chicago suburb is a business I’ve been associated with for over four decades, Eagle Grips.   It’s a high end gun grip maker that has graced hundreds of gun magazine cover throughout the world.  They offer genuine ivory, Sambar Stag, Mother of Pearl and American Elk Grips along with Rosewood and Ebony wood.   Now they developed a new process creating a material called Kirinite .  I can’t describe this material anything short of elegant and wonderful.  The material is impervious to dulling or scratching and the grips stick to the hands and fingers of the shooters.  Every possible property you’d ever want.

Rich Color Has Finally Come to Handgun Grips

Carol Stream, IL —I recently suggested to my friend Raj Singh , President of Eagle Grips that he needs to shake up the gun world with some color. I had no clue what rich materials he’d find or just how fantastic they'd look. The material is so incredible that photo images can’t seem to capture the true luster and beauty of the gem quality material that must be cut shaped and polished into the finished product. Of course the traditional materials of rosewood, ebony wood, stagg, elk Mother of Pearl and ivory are still available but there is that special occasion handgun needs something different. Visit Eagle Grips at www.eaglegrips.com and see the entire line. American Handgunner Magazine editor Roy Huntington recently gave me his impression of the new material.
